Out shooting.
Getting my head around how to shoot fireflies from a railway trestle was more difficult than I'd imagined. Turns out that a long, long shutter speed (30 seconds) plus a big, big aperture (f2.8) plus a little Noise Ninja in the post-processing starts to get the job done, though what you see here is still nothing like what we saw suspended over the Kokosing last night.
Click on this image to see it bigger. (A bummer: moving from RAW to tiff to jpeg means losing more and more firefly light.)
